We should all post pictures of ourselves so that when we respond to posts people can picture us in their heads. Ill post mine as soon as I'm out of class in an hour! Can't attach files from my iPad since their is no damn filesystem. :)

i would think that the main problem in modding the inaards of the PB to fit an AE card would be space. The AE card is shorter and wider than the original style airport card. That and the interfaces are different. I may be wrong, but I think that the AE card is more like a PCI card, and the original card is more like a a PCMCIA card. SOmeone may correct me if they wish.

I see the speck you are pointing to in that picture, but is that even noticeable in normal usage?
Yes it is. My background is a light grey colour so it shows up on that. And the fact that I know it's there means my eyes are drawn to it.

So here's my questions for all you Mac guys out there:
How is security on a Mac as opposed to a PC?
Pretty damn good. I rarely ever (I don't think I actually have) read about someone getting a virus on their Mac. I don't have any virus protection software and everything is running just fine on mine.
Is it easy to keep files and programs organized and easily accessible?
Very easy. Coming from a PC it takes a little getting used to in the fact that you can't just add an organization bar at the top (date of creation, time, date of modification, etc.) [Unless you can, if so, someone let me know :)] You also can't cut and paste, you have to either drag and drop or copy/paste then delete the original.
How is the "ease of use" for a Mac beginner? I wanna be able to get it and go! Just like with my iPhone.
Very easy. At a basic point it seems to be a little easier and more user friendly than a windows PC is. Everything is done a certain way and if you can wrap your head around it, it's very simple. HOwever you have keyboard commands which make Macs very efficient. The use of spaces also drastically improves this with the ability to have "unlimited" desktops, each of which you can switch to at any time.
And my number one priority, how dependable will my Mac be in 2,4,and 10 years down the line if I can't just go and get another one?
Very dependable. Of course if you're speaking spec wise, it depends on what you get now, although you can always upgrade the specs.
I'm using an 08 BlackBook right now and love it; 2.2ghz, 4 gigs of ram, and a 320gb hard drive. Amazingly fast and it never lags, allows me to run XP and 7 in a virtual window (within a program, not a separate OS) without much slowdown either.

it seems that this app also downloaded and installed:
- Stinky Wet Food 2.5.6
- Litterbox .014(beta)
- Shredded Upholstery Pro 7.2
- Catnip 3.3
- Trip To The Vet 4.4
Not only is this app not ready for prime time, but these dependencies are really hammering my drive space. And I now have worms.
haha, how did those pranksters get it uploaded???:D

I think theres a reason :apple: didnt notify the new iMac owners for 10.6.7 update, unlike in the new Macbook Pro
Its because all 2011 iMac will be eligilbe for upgrade to Lion for free, or at least with discount, maybe $29 only via Mac App Store so they can directly check who eligible for one and whos not. If you want to get the shiny retail box, it may cost $129.
That should be it .. so I wouldnt worry too much about Lion, lets hope Im not wrong okay :D

sn0wbreeze is pro... after trying to get pwnagetool to work for hours yesterday, i used the new sn0wbreeze release and got my ipad to tethered 4.3 JB in about 10 minutes! :)
For some reason, I always get error 3601 whenever I try to restore on iTunes. I can't get it to work!

I know it can be done so do not post saying it's impossible, there are adapters that allow you to and ones to play it connecting it to your MBP then to the apple display, but how could I do that? What adapters would I need and how steep of a price am I looking at?

Yeah, just to clarify I have been using a mac for about two years now. It is my friend who switched to mac :) He just placed the order a few hours ago for his new 12" iBook.
Ah, thanks for the clarification - that's what I get for speed reading... :o ;)

When I bought my imac years ago, it made a loud, vibrating, squeal right out of the box. It was so long ago, I forget if it was a hard drive or fan. After a couple tries with phone support, I took it back and was given a new one.

Ok but would it run games like team fortress, battlefield, arma or would it be poor quality.

I didn't read anything about low volume in the reviews, but here are these

I don't think that these will need a data plan, but I'm not entirely sure (especially on the first one). But they are probably more expensive than you were originally looking to spend.

doesnt justify the fact that I did multiple other tests throughout the day and realized the temperatures were wrong. Ive had 2 overheating issues after 20 minutes of play and found my temperatures reading at 102-105 degrees celcius before shutting down. Only having the game and windows open doing my tests.
I've even tried using a friends laptop cooler but that doesn't really do much either
If you think you have a problem take it to the Apple Store and possibly get another MBP. Why would you want to lose your warranty?????

Yeah, I think Angry Birds Christmas would blow the roof off their Mac Minis :D

I was in the same boat, but I ended up buying a sleeve instead. I would think hard cases are beneficial if you travel a lot. I personally really like the Be.ez La Robe sleeve. The zippers are completely covered from scratching the MBP.
I am considering buying Be.ez Le Reporter messenger bag as well, but I can't seem to find any reviews.
