    if dates are retrogessed you get 3 year extensions..
    if they are not then you apply for 485 :)

    If 485 is filed and then it retrogressed (like right now), i can still get 3yr extension, right?

    On Receipt Notice I-797C -Notice of Action I see following

    Received Date : June 25, 2007
    Notice Date : July 25, 2007

    I dont know why online case status says that "On July 24, 2007, we received ...."

    Do anyone of you see such date mismatch.

    Sometimes it's hard to get the dust off the sensor with one cleaning. I've cleaned mine once so far, and it still has some dust. I need to get some compressed air so I can recharge my $3 "sensor brush" from walmart and clean the CCD again. ;)Please continue to post your results with that brush. The article you initially referenced was quite interesting. You are the official Dphoto guinea pig for the $3 brush.

    I started talking to new employer about my joining and I requested for preparing PERM stuff before I join. This is the only this I want the new employer to do on behalf me before I join with him. The employer said Prevailing Wage determination takes 2 months. And the new employer mentioned that he can not do Prevailing Wage determination without joining. Is this right?

    Its better than not going to work and sitting at home playing with your kids or watching movies or shopping at walmart or doing laundry etc etc mulling about your future if you have time to spare for a thought
    Who said the demonstrations have to be on weekday. You can very well do it on weekends and you can do it during your lunch breaks . What we lack is resolve not resources
    I hope everybody agrees with that

    I think it will stay where it is now for this quarter.....just my guess. Then for the last quarter, we may see some advancement.....again this is my guess.

    I think we will move even more now. Looking at how premium processing is not back, and how many approvals have come on , USCIS may not have approved as many visas as they had hoped. instead of having another highly visible wastage of visa numbers dates will move big-time and lots of people with later PDs, but who have simpler cases will get approvals fast.

    Yes getting her here on an F1 Visa is your best option. You can hv the wedding in India but she shd not disclose abt her wedding and shd cm here on her maiden name and after afew months you can hv a registered marriage here. That is what my cousin did and they flew together to US.


    Thanks Chalam.. So who sponsored for her education?..Did she mention in admission process that her fiance is going to sponsor her education and also did she mention that during the F1 visa application process?...OR she did everything on her own not related to her fiance?..

    Option 1> Try to bring your wife to US before aug 17. (No risk at all)
    Option 2> File it and do not use EAD and stay on H1b so you can bring your wife on H4. ( Thers is some risk. 99.99% USCIS is not going to do anything with your I485 till Oct'07 except sending you receipt. But god forbid, they approve your application before that then you are in trouble because you won't be able to bring your wife to US. Chances of happening this is very slim). Get benefit of AC21.

    Option-3> Do not apply. And wait for 2005 becode current ( this is not going to happen atleast for next 3-4 years without any new legislation. And if you change job or somethingm, restart it from 0, no AC21 benefit.

    In short, FILE IT....

    Hey all,

    I have exactly 1.8 yrs left on my h1b. My 6th year starts March 2008.

    I am in a permanent job now and my labor (EB3) priority date is Aug 2006.
    I-140 with Nebraska has been pending for the last 6 months. (yes I am going to pay 1K and get it converted to premium )

    I have another job offer (permanent) from a company in bedford, boston.

    The problem is they (like most) will not start GC processing immediately. They may start after 3 months or after 6 months per policy. No promises. :confused:

    So Questions:
    1. If the new employer submits labor after my 6th year starts, what are my options? (is it risk?)

    2. I may not be able to port PD from my current employer as my I140 is still ending and if I give my notice, they will very well cancel it before it gets approved. (Even if I convert to premium now, it will take 3 weeks to get approval and I doubt if the other employer will wait). besides I am doubtful if I can get a copy of the 140 approval.

    3. Another option I can think of is, give up this offer.
    Stick to my current employer, get I140 approved, get my 3 yr H1b extension and then try to switch. Is this even a practical option?

    Appreciate any opinions.

    I would go with option 3 based on your current situation. Getting your 3 year H1 extension after I-140 approval should be your objective. You can always switch companies after getting the 3 year extension, restart your GC process (PERM and new I-140) and port your PD from the approved I-140. Good Luck.

    This conference is for lawyers and employers and organized by lawyers. The organizers are charging fees for it too.

    So what will IV gain by meeting lawyers and paying money to just get in?
    Or by showing our face to USCIS official, Do you think by showing your face you will get your greencard and can promote IV? If that is true why don't you go and sit in front of USCIS and show your face to everyone entering that building?

    And if you want to go then go. Why do you want IV to pay your $350?

    First use your common sense and think positively instead of commenting posts
