Incorrect. Turbo boost is "dynamic overclocking". Depending on the current number of cores being used and if additional processing power is required, the CPU will slowly increase the clock rate for the currently active cores. It'll do this incrementally until the thermal operating limit of the processor is reached.
Umm, isn't that pretty much exactly what I described in my OP? Albeit I didn't use the phrase "dynamic overclocking".

Ok, so lets say I go with 3rd party memory. If I have an unrelated problem with the MBP, would I need to put the original memory back in before taking it in for service?
I'm new to the whole Mac thing. Thanks.
First, it's ALL 3rd party RAM, since Apple doesn't make RAM. They put other manufacturer's RAM in their computers. Second, upgrading the RAM or hard drive yourself is not a violation of warranty, so there's no need to put the original RAM back before service. Hang onto the original RAM, in case you have a problem with the RAM you buy.
... Apple cannot give me crap for using third party ram.
They wouldn't, anyway. See above.

1) I love my MS BT mouse and the only lag I've ever noticed is when you haven't used the mouse for a few mins. when it takes maybe half a sec. to 'wake', no problem. I'd very much recommend mapping the buttons to Expose/dasboard, you'll never go back to either Windows or a single mouse button.
2) BUy RAM elsewhere and fit it yourself, it's a doddle.
3) I'd say the iCurve would be fine and recommend an external keyboard, wired or BT.

Just joking...
hahahaha I bet you're not. :p :p
I'd go with Tribeworks 'iShell', Ben and Casey's 'Processing', Ambrosia's 'Snapz Pro' and finally Discreet for the awesome Combustion 3.

Do we really need a smaller phone? Some are so small that they're difficult to hold now. I'd like to see one that turns off the car's engine as soon as you start to dial. :D
I still think they need to make a QuickTime device to play movies and music on the run. If it also has organising capabilities, all the better. Wireless communications would be a necessity, however.

Although I depend on their apps to get my days work done, I'm starting to get a little cheesed-off with Adobe at the mo.
I very much would like to see CS 1.1 apps fixed before they go charging off with CS2, particularly the buggy-as-hell Illustrator 11. Acrobat 6 too...

A faster way is to use multiquote, then erase the first /quote, and paste (or retype it) after the second /quote.
As you can see, that doesn't work well, as it makes it look like the wrong person did the quoting.
Or cutting and pasting the second quote= to the start of the reply ...
Which is what I said:
... use the multi-quote button (http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif) to get both quotes in your reply, then cut and paste the original post into the post that quoted it.

The MBP arrived today - it's condition is immaculate, even the box is perfect. I found exactly one hair in the keyboard - that's the only sign it was used, ever. This seller has been very professional and has provided great communication throughout our transaction. I would definitely buy from him again.

In a similar position - in that I'm looking for a scanner to digitise my wives film slide collection (approx 2000 slides). At first I was looking for film specific scanners (for film negative and slides). I've now heard Canon have dropped this dedicated line and replaced it with scanners such as the i9950 (thats the Euro name).
I find the http://www.photo-i.co.uk/ site provides some useful tips.
Good luck.

PS: check out the mac processor power/ speed/ core #'s, buss speeds, RAM speed and Amt, when cs3,4, AP, & LR were introduced. It will put what you think will work in perspective with what will work just fine. The base 27 will suffice for years into the future. Add a matte screen when you get more serious. When you evolve the point when you are editing batch photos, or doing multiple poster sized layouts, add a few SSD's. When that time comes, their sizes & prices will be more in tune with reality.

I love mine!
Yeah it's thick, but seriously, I can throw my iPhone 4 and your glasses will crack, not my phone's.
Check out some videos on youtube, saw some people drop weights on the thing. When I bought mine, the lady had her phone in it and threw it to the ground (I shrieked like a lil girl) and low and behold, the phone was fine.
Oh and you can use the clip for a stand as well.

I do not like this show one bit. I have tried watching it several times and have not laughed once.....and I am half-mexican and grew up around my dad's family so one would think that I might find at least part of this show funny. Sadly I agree that this is a Chappelle-show-rip-off......kind of like the Norm McDonald show is (or was....I've on ly seen it once).

I really don't understand your setup / question.
Why exactly do you have two separate internet connections?
Are you actually talking about internet or do you just mean ethernet?

That doesn't happen for me. The scrolling continues as it should, even during the momentum phase of the scroll.
That's the way it used to be for me. I don't know when it broke or what might have caused it.

You can install Snow Leopard client from a USB stick. You can google for instructions on how to prepare a USB stick.
A clean install of Snow Leopard would be ideal unless you're moving from an old Mac and would rather not setup and configure everything again.

To sum things up with as little grief as possible, I'm selling my SD300. I don't have the box or anything for it but I do have a cheap walmart case to include and an extra battery. I also have a 1gb sandisk SD card to include with it. If somebody wishes, I can negotiate a deal for no card to be included say..if somebody already has one or something. You get the charger too.
Pics....I don't really have a pic of just the camera, just it pictured with some other stuff I'm slating for the chopping block. You can see everything at:
http://pics.intarweblog.com/index.php?mode=album&alb=xmas
The camera is in the middle of the second to last picture. If you see anything else in any of the pictures that you may be interested in, let me know. paypal would be pretty much my only method of accepted payment and I really hate shipping to canada but I may do it on this camera since it would be a small package. Don't ask me to ship anything else to Canada, I might lose my mind on the next customs form while shipping something I'd be better off throwing away.
ASKING $250 for this camera with everything mentioned. No extra items implied. Shipping not included.

I heard people on MR talking about it and thought it was a good cause. Hopefully it'll help them cure some disease or help with some important research at some point. I started a couple days ago and its really pretty easy and doesn't interrupt normal usage, so, why not?
