You dont need an Internet connection, but what you could do is plug your Macbook into any speakers, create a wifi network with your macbook, join that wifi network with your iPhone and just use the iTunes Remote App to control the music.

Thanks for the review. I am really excited about this product and will be getting one when i get an iPod Photo for sure. I have a question that I have not heard anywhere. Does the Camera Connector support USB 2 with cameras that support it, or is it strictly USB 1.1? If it did USB 2 that would be awesome. I will probably buy it either way, but just curious.

First the heat. I'd read around the forums that the heat could be uncomfortable and even hot in some of the powerbooks. For me the heat isn't bad, you know it's there, of that there is no doubt, but it's more like an electric blanket on your lap. Like an electric blanket if using in your lap for an extensive time it can get much warmer, but never to where I would say ow when touching it with my bare hand.
While I prefer the 15 inch, I'll give you that the heat isn't an issue. I had a 12 inch 867 before, and I could have cooked eggs on that baby! Wow, I do not miss that heat!!! :eek:

OK, wasn't sure where to file this, but i found this crazy Czech guy (are there any other Czech guys? :) ) who installed a PowerMac G4 in his Tatra 613. Which is BTW a pretty impressive car for it's time.

WHen posting pics of your system online people need to start adding watermarks so idiots like these won't reuse them for posting Ads on CL or Ebay or where ever.
They post on CL here in Sacramento as well. Usually we use the Flagging system to get them deleted as quick as possible.. I just wish there was someway they could be filtered or refused from posting.

Anyone from previous Apple events at the grove have any idea how long the line can be? I was in Boston for iPhone 1.0. Anyone planning to go to an ATT store for faster service?I've been there for some events where the line snaked clear around the block. And it's a long block. Many hundreds of people. That doesn't mean this event will necessarily be the same, but it's a flagship store and gets lots of attention and business. Also, the iPhone is a product that takes longer to purchase than, say, a new version of Mac OS X.

If the photos are on the SSD drive, then yes they will launch faster than if on the HDD. Now that said, if they are just average say 2MB JPG photos the difference will not be huge. If it is a very hi-res photo say 10MB JPG the difference will be more noticeable.

I don't care what they change so long as it's user-replaceable, and until then, I will continue to recommend against them to customers. As it stands, it's barely technician-replaceable, as the rubber bottom normally gets torn in opening the thing.

Oooh, I think I remember that vaguely...But four channels was the best. You had to use up two channels at a time to actually get the sound out of both speakers. But some of the music was *amazing*... Ahhh, good old 8-bit Ensoniq guts. :)

I used greenpois0n to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2g and it worked great. Maybe it was because I was using a mac? If you want to change the greenpois0n skull boot logo go to settings and then boot logo. There you can change it back or install more on Cydia.

Seriously, I think the only real user-serviceable upgrades are the RAM and HDD. Beyond that, you'd be doing some soldering, I think.
